You've probably ordered from a cloud kitchen without knowing it. The term simply means a kitchen that cooks only for delivery — no dining room, no tables, no walk-in counter. Little Bites is one of them. Here's what that changes, and what it doesn't.
What's different
A regular restaurant splits its attention between guests in the room and orders going out of the door. A delivery kitchen has one job: getting food to your door in good shape. That shapes everything — the menu (dishes that travel well), the packaging (containers that let steam out instead of trapping it) and the way the kitchen is laid out.
It also means lower fixed costs. Without a street-facing dining room to pay for, more of what you spend goes into ingredients and packaging.
What stays exactly the same
Food safety rules. Every food business in India that cooks and sells food needs an FSSAI licence or registration, has to display the number, and must follow the same hygiene requirements whether or not it has a dining room. Our licence number is printed on every bill and on our food safety page.
Questions worth asking any delivery kitchen
- Is the FSSAI licence number shown on the bill?
- Are vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes clearly marked?
- Is the bag sealed, so you can tell whether it was opened on the way?
- Can you reach a real person if something is wrong?
If the answer to any of these is no, it's fair to ask why. And if you ever have a question about how we work, talk to us.
