Ordering for an office party? Here's how much food you need

Order too little and the last few people get crumbs; order too much and you send leftovers home. The simple maths we use for party orders.

17 August 2026 · Little Bites kitchen

The most common question before a party order is "how much should I get?" Order too little and the last few people get the crumbs; order too much and you're sending leftovers home in tiffins. Here's the rough maths we use.

Snacks-only events (tea time, meetings)

  • Momos: 6 to 8 pieces per person.
  • Rolls: half a roll per person if there's another snack, one if it's the main thing.
  • Fries or potato sides: one regular portion for every three people.
  • Drinks: one shake or cooler per person, plus water.

Lunch or dinner

  • Noodles or fried rice: one full plate for every two people.
  • A starter or gravy like chilli paneer or Manchurian: one full plate for every three people.
  • Something sweet: one gulab jamun or brownie per person.

Mix veg and non-veg sensibly

If you don't know your group well, make the vegetarian share a little larger than you think you need — vegetarian guests have fewer options to fall back on. Every tray we send is labelled with the green or brown food mark, so nobody has to guess.

Give us some notice

For groups under 30, a few hours' notice is usually enough. For bigger groups, or a fixed delivery time, tell us a day ahead so we can plan the kitchen and send the food in batches that arrive hot. Use our party order form and we'll reply with a menu and a price.
